A very happy day indeed. Thank you to Lorraine for organizing the Clementi Piano Competition on the 26th February. Although I was not there to listen to my students play, the overall feedback from parents have been mostly positive. Congratulations to those who won prizes for their performance. It was surely tough having to compete against other pianists playing the same piece.
Here are the list of students who won:
Yuqi D. - 1st place grade 5
Khushbu J. - 1st place grade 2
Zeo P. - 3rd place grade 2
Angelin P. - 2nd place grade 3
Well done to all students who performed at the Christmas Concert on 11th Dec 2016. The church was packed with audience, whose support brought us £900 to offer to the High Town Methodist Church Pipe Organ Restoration Fund.
Theory and Practical results for the C2016 session was good. Congratulation to all students who worked hard getting ready for exam. It was worth it.
Well done to Josh, Yuqi, Muskaan, Noann, Ben and Angelin for trying their best at the 1st round of EPTA Regional Competition yesterday. A big congratulations to Jayden for getting into the Finals.
The adjudicator touched on the importance of getting into the character of the piece, leaving spaces between pieces, having the right tonal balance and acknowledging the audience with a bow after performance. Competitors were reminded to not leave the piano immediately after playing. There was also a demo on the Dohnanyi method, which we will be exploring throughout 2017 and a short mention regarding economy of movement, which can be achieve with the right finger positioning.
A big thank you to Lorraine for organising this competition on Sunday the 16th October 2016. Students who participated played the piano exam pieces that they are going to play on their 15th Nov 2016 piano exam.
Well done to Zeo, Noaan (G1), Tishe, Angelin (G2), Joshua (G4), Kaveh (G6) and Muskaan (G7) for trying their best.

I had an enjoyable day out with my two students JB and KB (not siblings). Long train rides and long walks and even longer period of sitting down- (2 hours). It has been a worthwhile experience. Lots of useful feedback received and we also took photos of highly expensive Steinways.
