Theory and Practical results for the C2016 session was good. Congratulation to all students who worked hard getting ready for exam. It was worth it. The adjudicator touched on the importance of getting into the character of the piece, leaving spaces between pieces, having the right tonal balance and acknowledging the audience with a bow after performance. Competitors were reminded to not leave the piano immediately after playing. There was also a demo on the Dohnanyi method, which we will be exploring throughout 2017 and a short mention regarding economy of movement, which can be achieve with the right finger positioning. A big thank you to Lorraine for organising this competition on Sunday the 16th October 2016. I had an enjoyable day out with my two students JB and KB (not siblings). Long train rides and long walks and even longer period of sitting down- (2 hours). It has been a worthwhile experience. Lots of useful feedback received and we also took photos of highly expensive Steinways.
